The FirstStar Mark III is an LED-based "light engine" designed to replace the bulb in your existing anchor light fixture. It will fit "Perko", "Hella", "AquaSignal", and other fixtures using the common double contact, index-pin, bayonet base bulbs.

Averaging a draw of only 80 milliamps at normal boat voltages, the FirstStar Mark III is the brightest, most energy efficient anchor light currently sold anywhere in the world that offers real 2-mile visibility in existing fixtures.

We can sell you either a PERKO Tri-Color or Series 200 (stand-alone) fixture, if you need one with your "light engine" order.

The FirstStar Mark III anchor light is made with an array of 12 of the brightest white LEDs currently available and meets the 2-mile visibility requirement for vessels up to 65' long.

But, since Deep Creek Design doesn't make the housing fixture themselves, it isn't an officially "certified" anchor light. If "official certification" of your navigation lights is important to you, then you should not use these LED replacement bulbs. Please use them wholly at your own risk and discretion if you use them as navigation lights.

The FirstStar Mark III employs Deep Creek Design's own VPW (Variable Pulse Width) circuit that varies the pulse width in relationship to the actual battery voltage available.

This allows the Mark III to remain at maximum brightness all the way down to 10 volts and protects the LEDs from higher charging voltages all the way up to 15 volts!

All of the pulse repetition rates are so fast that the human eye cannot discern any "flicker" and the LEDs can be driven at their full rated brightness.

The FirstStar Mark III is "bi-polar", so the wiring polarity of your existing fixture is okay as is.

The Mark III employs a new infrared light-sensing phototransistor to turn the unit on at dusk and off again at dawn for unattended operation. (Note that any failure of the phototransistor will NOT disable the light.it just won't be "automatic" any more.)

The LEDs have a life expectancy of over 100,000 hours and Deep Creek warrants the FirstStar Mark III for 5 years of normal use. The FirstStar Mark III also has over-voltage and surge protection at "bulletproof" levels and is fully RFI suppressed so that the Mark III produces no radio noise.even with the most sensitive SSB rigs.
