The TriStar MkII is the second LED based replacement bulb in the "Star" series. Like the FirstStar Mark III, the TriStar Mark III employs Deep Creek Design's proprietary VPW (variable pulse width) circuitry.

The TriStar Mark III is designed to be a low-energy replacement for the upper bulb in existing Tri-Color masthead fixtures.for sailing at night. It may also be used to convert a regular anchor light fixture to a "sailing at night" masthead light.

In the photo at right, the TriStar is in the upper part of a Perko masthead TriColor fixture (left). The lower white segment is the FirstStar anchor light unit. The fixture at right shows how the TriStar can also be used to convert a normal anchor light with a clear lens to a "sailing at night" tricolor.

The TriStar Mark III consists of three arrays of white, red and green LEDs which match the color segments of existing Tri-Color fixtures. They contain a total of 36 LEDs and draw only 250 milliamps to power all three color segments (see detailed photo).

These LED lights have a life expectancy of 100,000 hours of use. They fit the "Aqua-Signal" and PERKO Tri-Color fixtures without modifications of any kind. If you have a "Hella" Tri-Color, please tell us, as that fixture requires that we provide a slightly different (no extra charge) bulb for it.

As with all the Star series LED navigation light replacement bulbs, the TriStar Mark III does meet the visibility requirements of the "certified" bulbs they replace, but they are not officially certified and should be used at your own discretion and risk.

The TriStar MkII is made here in the U.S.A. They are warranted for 5 years and you have a "satisfaction assured" period of 60 days to try one out and return it for a full refund (except shipping) if you don't like it for any reason.
